What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session is very important to me. The first session is all about making the client feel comfortable. My clients can expect a warm welcome, brief introductions, and to begin discussing specific challenges they are facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I think my greatest strength is that I am warm, welcoming, and calming. I have had clients of all ages tell me those things and it makes me proud. Those strengths are what make it possible to create a great therapeutic environment. Those strengths, in my opinion, make it possible for clients to open up, feel safe, and be able to work on themselves.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have used this method for the past two years primarily with children. I find this method helpful for clients who want to stop a certain behavior or want to change a certain behavior. I use CBT in my practice and other treatment methods to help and address my clients' needs.

Compassion Focused

I use compassion in every session. I find that the world can be a hard place for anyone to navigate. Compassion is needed in the therapy room. It is important to me that my clients feel safe and heard.

Family Therapy

As an LMFT, I have been educated on how to address family dynamics and help the family process issues in a healthy productive way. I have worked with several families over the years to address issues such as big transitions, possible divorce, and communication.

Motivational Interviewing

I have primarily used this treatment method in addiction and adolescents. It can be difficult for anyone to see that an action could be causing more issues in their life. I don't judge my clients, try to help them see the bigger picture. I don't push my clients into anything I think they should do but I do try to motivate them to see all aspects of an issue.

Psychoeducation

I use this method to help clients understand their diagnosis as a whole. I find that some clients don't know behaviors the exhibit are related to their diagnosis and not a charter flaw that they should be embarrassed or ashamed of.
