Hi and welcome, my name is Anthony Samora, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist here to see you through those difficult times in your life and help you find that you that you've been looking for mentally and emotionally. I work from multiple different styles in therapy to provide you with the best fit for who you are as a person so that you can have a safe space designed for you to grow!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In a first session, we'll typically start by reviewing some of the details you've provided me about yourself and what you'd like to improve and I'll work with you to develop a plan with clearly defined goals that you want to achieve! I also greatly appreciate the chance to offer something to take away from a first session with me to get started on the improvements you want to see.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a person who's worked through a number of mental health concerns and life stressors myself, it's given me an opportunity to understand a good part of what others are going through and really connect on that level. I am someone who focuses on the whole of what makes you, you, utilizing a holistic approach to therapy and providing you with the flexibility to present your truest self in a safe space and allow the you, you want to see, to come out!

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I have completed a multi-week intensive course on learning and applying ACT skills with other therapists and an ACT specialist. I tend to use ACT eclectically with other methods as a way to focus on helping people improve their engagement with life and their personal values.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-i)

I have reviewed multiple trainings on this and created a presentation on this previously. I typically utilize this eclectically in sessions with other methods when insomnia concerns are present and will do so by incorporating specifical environmental changes and behavioral skills to improve sleep.

Couples Counseling

This method is non-specific and typically I incorporate aspects of behavioral modifications, communication skill building, and experiential activities to improve your relationship's foundation.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I have completed multiple trainings in DBT and utilize this technique eclectically by incorporating stress reduction skills, urge surfing techniques, and mindfulness to help you work through stress and feel more confidence in yourself throughout the day.

Eclectic

This is a combination of techniques and I utilize this approach to allow for you the individual to feel you are getting the therapy pieces that best match your needs instead of it being a "one size fits all" approach.
