Are you looking to improve your emotional experience or going through a life transition? Do you feel over whelmed or anxious because you are stagnant and not gaining the results in life you desire? Perhaps you feel you are banging your head against the wall trying to recover, set boundaries or get through a dramatic change or transition in your life? I get it, overcoming the hurdles life throws at you can be challenging, I look forward to working together to find clarity and facilitate change! I focus on your individual strengths and help guide you to find solutions that work best for you.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I try to make my clients feel at ease since the first session can feel the most intrusive. Generally we will discuss what brought you to therapy in the first place and how long symptoms have been present and what capacity they are problematic. We will explore your desire for therapy and continue to build trust and rapport. I tend to use some humor and metaphores to ease the awkwardness about the first session.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I use a lot of motivational interviewing and CBT with an existential lens. I like to think of myself as pretty eclectic however I do lean towards an Adlerian and solution focused lens of treatment. If you don't know what any of this means, that is perfectly okay! Its just therapist jargon anyway. Rest assured, I try to tailor my method to what will work best for you. Some interventions don't always work for people, so I tweak as I need to for you to have the best success in our journey together!

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I specialize in working with individuals who are struggling or are facing a new phase of life. Working with people who are anxious about this transition or want to improve their emotional state is where I excel. New job, recent move, a graduate or even a new parent. All of the "new" can be scary and intimidating and I enjoy helping people navigate the uncharted territory and face the scary. If you are feeling stuck, scared or anxious about some change that is about to occur or has just taken place, we may be a good match. I also like to use metaphors and different ways to break down abstract ideas to make things more palatable for you. Therapy can be difficult so I try to make it as easy as I can for you to look in the mirror and create the change you desire.
