Reaching out for help in the form of therapy is not an easy thing to do as many can attest, but by reading this biography, you are taking the first step in getting help for yourself or a loved one. At times, life offers many struggles and obstacles that can be difficult to overcome alone. Engaging in therapy will provide opportunities to explore and process the thoughts and feelings that prevent you from living your best life. Though the thought of therapy may be intimidating and even nerve-wrecking for some, I believe once a person finds the right therapist, they find a trusting confidant who seeks to understand and problem solve.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In the first therapy session, clients can expect a warm and welcoming environment where they can share their thoughts, feelings, and concerns freely. We will begin by explaining the therapy process, discussing confidentiality, and addressing any questions or concerns the client may have. We will also work to establish a strong therapeutic alliance, building rapport and trust with the client. Additionally, I will conduct an initial assessment, asking about the client's presenting issues, mental health history, and goals for therapy. This session is an opportunity for the client to begin exploring their thoughts and feelings in a supportive and nonjudgmental space, setting the foundation for future sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

It is my goal is to help you find healthy ways to cope with your stressors, and together, discover long-term solutions that will lead to a better you. I will relate to you by leveraging my experience working with various populations, including people of many different ethnic, cultural and socioeconomical backgrounds. Together, let’s begin this journey.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have extensive experience in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), which focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviors. In my practice, I use CBT techniques to help clients challenge unhelpful beliefs, develop coping strategies, and cultivate more adaptive ways of thinking and behaving to improve their mental health and overall well-being.

Motivational Interviewing

I have training in motivational interviewing (MI), which is a client-centered approach that focuses on exploring and resolving ambivalence. In my practice, I use MI techniques to help clients explore their motivations for change, enhance their intrinsic motivation, and ultimately increase their readiness to make positive changes in their lives.
