Welcome to my page! My name is Taylor and I am a licensed psychotherapist specializing in trauma/PTSD, violence/abuse, women's issues, and mood and anxiety disorders. I work with ages 6+ across the lifespan. My approach to therapy is eclectic and interactive; I tend to pull from different theoretical concepts and apply evidence-based therapies to fit clients' developmental stage, preferences and needs. I am also a doctoral student and love incorporating research into my practice :)

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I have been on the other side of the couch so I know what it is like to be in the patient role. This process can be daunting, but the good news is that you have already taken the first step! All I ask is that you are present and open to the process. I will be sure to meet you where you're at as an equal, and I always welcome feedback as we work together.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I admire those who reach out for help as doing so is an act of courage. I truly respect the uniqueness and ability of every individual as they grow (no pun intended).

My treatment methods

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I use DBT to help clients incorporate mindfulness, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness and emotional regulation skills to help manage strong emotions.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I use ACT as an action-oriented approach that helps promote psychological flexibility.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I utilize CBT as a popular approach to help clients explore the relationships between their thoughts, feelings and behaviors.

Psychodynamic

I use a psychodynamic approach to examine clients' unresolved conflicts/unconscious processes to promote greater insight.

Trauma Informed Care

I am trained in ART (similar to EMDR) and TF-CBT to promote desensitization and help clients reprocess traumatic memories.
