It is an honor to hold someone's heart as they journey through healing and unfold into the individual they desire to be. Traumas, attachment trauma, and life challenges such as loss, depression and anxiety can leave us feeling empty, lost and wondering if life will ever improve. Finding the right prescription of modalities is vital for healing. It is my professional philosophy that it is the therapist's responsibility to provide multiple processes from which a client can gain healing and healthy perspectives. I have made it a point to gain skills from several modalities and continue on a regular basis to add to my skillset.
In the first session we will explore what you are hoping to achieve, dive into your history, your family history and consider the assessment results. We will look at how all of this is culminating into the challenges you are facing that led you to therapy.
Gaining trust and building a therapeutic relationship should be at the core, in my opinion of the therapy session. It is in the trusting relationship that an individual feels safe to share, to gain insight, and to move through pain and find healing.
I have worked with young children and parents, adolescents, and adults, as well as family sessions. I am thoroughly trained in trauma techniques to help those who are challenged with attachment trauma, compound trauma, occupational trauma and other issues that create trauma.
Attachment is at the heart of all the modalities I utilize to help individuals heal and grow. We are creatures of attachment with core needs of feeling seen, safe and heard. When we feel heard, we then feel seen and safe. in my opinion, helping clients understand how their childhood interacts in their present is a vital component to most therapeutic encounters.
