My counseling style is warm, supportive, and client-centered. I believe in treating everyone with respect, dignity, sensitivity, and compassion. My approach largely combines cognitive-behavioral and humanistic counseling, but I also pull from other theoretical models as needed. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. I am here to help you get what you want out of the counseling experience.
I'm sorry you are having a tough time right now, and I'm really glad you are reaching out. I'd like to help you work on the struggles and anxiety you are facing; and offer you a safe place to explore your thoughts and feelings. I would first like for us to get to know one another so you can feel comfortable sharing with me. I would like for us to identify goals, so that we can better understand and plan for our work together.
My counseling style is pretty laid back. I have been described as supportive, caring, and compassionate, with a pretty good sense of humor. I like to focus on identifying your strengths and helping you to maximize them to overcome your obstacles. I'm here to help you sort through the things that are difficult right now, and offer you a safe place to be open and honest without fear of judgment.
I’ve been using CBT in my practice for the past fifteen years. It’s helped dozens of clients challenge reoccurring thoughts and manage their feelings. We’ll use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. We’ll then use that knowledge to change your thinking patterns, which will help you lead a less anxious and stressed life.
