Hi! I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner- BC based in Florida. I received my Masters from Walden University in Minnesota. In my practice, I focus on assessing mental health conditions, prescribing medications, managing chronic diseases, and providing mental health education and coping strategies, and psychotherapy. My goal is to empower patients to take an active role in their mental health through compassionate care, open communication, and collaborative decision-making. I strive to build trusting relationships with patients, ensuring they feel supported in every aspect of their health journey.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The session will start with introductions to create a comfortable and open environment. Clients will be encouraged to share what brought them to seek care. This will help me understand and create a treatment plan and recommendations, discuss follow-up appointments. The session will conclude with an opportunity to ask questions or voice any concerns you may have about the process, the treatment plan.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a psychiatric nurse practitioner, my greatest strengths lie in my ability to offer evidence-based mental health care while providing a holistic, compassionate, and patient-centered approach. Key strength includes Holistic Care; My background in nursing equips me to view mental health within the broader context of a patient’s physical, emotional, and social well-being. I treat the whole person, not just the diagnosis, which helps create more comprehensive care plans. Therapeutic Communication; My ability to actively listen and ask insightful questions helps me better understand patients’ concerns, needs, and experiences. This enhances my capacity to develop tailored treatment plans and offer the right therapeutic support. These strengths help me provide high-quality, compassionate care and make a meaningful difference in my patients’ mental health and overall quality of life.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I am best positioned to serve individuals experiencing a wide range of mental health challenges, including: Anxiety Disorders, Depression, Stress and Adjustment Issues, Mild to Moderate Trauma or PTSD, Chronic Mental Illness, Mild to Moderate Substance Use Issues, Grief and Loss, Mild to Moderate Bipolar Disorder. My approach is compassionate, supportive, and person-centered, which makes me well-suited to clients who need emotional validation, coping strategies, and a collaborative approach to managing mental health.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I utilize CBT by helping users understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Here's how I incorporate CBT strategies: 1. Identifying Cognitive Distortions : I guide you in recognizing unhelpful thinking patterns, such as all-or-nothing thinking, catastrophizing, or overgeneralization. 2. Behavioral Activation: If someone feels stuck in negative behavioral patterns, I help them set small, achievable goals to engage in positive activities. This can be useful for someone struggling with depression or anxiety. 3. Cognitive Restructuring: I guide you through exercises that allow them to reframe negative or self-defeating thoughts into more balanced, rational perspectives. 4. Mindfulness and Emotional Regulation: I often encourage mindfulness techniques as part of CBT, helping users stay present, reduce stress, and observe their thoughts without judgment.

Supportive

I incorporate supportive therapy by: 1. Active Listening: I provide a non-judgmental space where you can express your feelings, concerns, and thoughts openly. By reflecting and summarizing what users share, I help them feel understood and validated. 2. Empathy and Validation: Supportive therapy emphasizes emotional validation, which I integrate by recognizing and acknowledging your emotional experiences. 3. Encouragement and Affirmation: I focus on reinforcing your strengths and positive attributes. By affirming their capabilities and past achievements, I help them build confidence to cope with current challenges. Encouragement can also be as simple as recognizing small successes in their daily lives. 4. Coping Strategies : In moments of emotional distress, I help you to explore and develop effective coping strategies. This might involve discussing relaxation techniques, mindfulness exercises, or simple steps to manage stress and anxiety.
