I'm Brittney Santillo, a trauma-focused therapist and owner of Holding Hope Counseling. I specialize in helping individuals and couples navigate through emotional challenges using approaches like EMDR for trauma and evidence-based couples therapy. My goal is to create a safe, supportive environment where clients can heal, grow, and strengthen their relationships. Currently, I offer telehealth services, allowing for flexible, accessible therapy sessions.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In the first session, clients can expect a safe, welcoming space to share their concerns and goals. We'll explore what brings them to therapy, whether it's trauma, relationship challenges, or personal growth, and discuss their history and current struggles. I’ll explain my therapeutic approach, including methods like EMDR or couples therapy, and together, we'll create a plan tailored to your/their needs. The first session is about building rapport and setting the foundation for a collaborative and supportive therapeutic relationship.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strengths as a provider are my ability to create a compassionate, non-judgmental space for healing and my expertise in trauma-focused therapies like EMDR. I am deeply attuned to the emotional needs of my clients, helping them feel safe while working through difficult experiences. Additionally, my strength lies in fostering connection within couples, helping them build trust and improve communication. My flexibility with telehealth services allows me to meet clients where they are, offering support that fits their lifestyle and needs.

My treatment methods

EMDR

EMDR in telehealth sessions works similarly to in-person therapy, using eye movements or tapping to help reprocess trauma. Through virtual tools and guided techniques, clients can still experience the same powerful effects, such as reducing distress and shifting negative beliefs. Many clients find this approach highly effective in managing trauma and anxiety remotely, making therapy more accessible.

Couples Counseling

Telehealth couples therapy allows partners to work on communication, trust, and connection from the comfort of their own space. Using evidence-based techniques, we address relationship challenges and improve dynamics just as effectively as in-person sessions. The virtual format makes it easier to fit into busy schedules, creating a safe, accessible environment for growth.
