About me

Hi, I’m Jenna! I help children, teens, and families navigate life’s ups and downs with compassion, creativity, and a little bit of humor along the way. Using a client-centered approach, CBT, and EMDR, I create a safe and supportive space where you can explore your feelings, build confidence, and develop tools to thrive. Whether you're facing challenges with self-esteem, conflict, or past experiences, I’ll meet you where you are and help you move toward healing and growth. You don’t have to figure it all out alone—I’m here to help!

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In the first session, clients can expect a warm, welcoming, and relaxed conversation where we get to know each other. I’ll ask about what’s bringing you in, your goals for therapy, and any concerns you have. For children and teens, I tailor the session to their comfort level, using creative or interactive approaches if needed. We’ll also talk about how therapy works, what to expect moving forward, and answer any questions. Most importantly, the first session is about creating a safe space where you feel heard, understood, and comfortable taking the next steps in your journey.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

As a therapist, I bring a mix of warmth, humor, and real-talk to the therapy space—because healing doesn’t have to be boring! I thrive in working with kids, teens, and families, helping them navigate the messy, beautiful journey of growing up. Whether it’s boosting self-esteem, supporting LGBTQ+ youth, or helping families communicate without (too much) eye-rolling, I create a space where clients feel safe, seen, and empowered. My approach blends creativity, evidence-based strategies, and a deep belief in each client’s resilience. Therapy with me? It’s a mix of insight, laughter, and real change.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am best positioned to serve children, adolescents, and families who are navigating challenges related to self-esteem, identity, anxiety, trauma, and family conflict. My approach is especially helpful for young people who need a supportive space to express themselves, build confidence, and develop coping skills. I also work well with families looking to improve communication and connection. Whether a client is struggling with big emotions, past experiences, or simply figuring out who they are, I provide a compassionate, affirming, and engaging environment where they can grow and heal.

My treatment methods

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I utilize a client-centered approach as the foundation of my work, creating a safe and nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard and empowered. Through empathy, active listening, and unconditional positive regard, I support children, adolescents, and families in exploring their strengths and navigating challenges like conflict, self-esteem, and identity development. Rather than directing solutions, I encourage self-exploration and personal growth, integrating play or narrative techniques as needed. My goal is to foster self-awareness and meaningful change by ensuring every client feels valued and understood.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in my practice to help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thoughts and behaviors. Using a structured, goal-oriented approach, I guide children, adolescents, and families in developing coping skills, reframing negative thinking, and managing emotions effectively. I tailor CBT techniques to each client, integrating activities like thought journals, behavioral experiments, and mindfulness. My goal is to empower clients with practical tools to build resilience and create lasting positive change.

EMDR

I use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help clients process and heal from distressing experiences. By guiding them through bilateral stimulation, I support children, adolescents, and families in reducing emotional distress and reframing negative beliefs. I tailor EMDR to each client’s needs, integrating grounding techniques and trauma-informed care to ensure a safe, supportive process. My goal is to help clients build resilience, regain a sense of control, and move forward with greater emotional well-being.
