My name is Elizabeth. I am an Army Veteran, and a medical social worker. I am a mother, and an ally. I love helping people accept and grow from life's many challenges, and highlight the inner strengths we all bring into the world. I strive to help everyone I work with see their worth and how they are deserving of love, joy and fulfillment in life.
In our first meeting, we will spend time getting to know each other. What are your dreams, hopes, desires and hang ups, and how can we best work together to meet your goals?
Having worked in medical social work for so long, I have heard and seen a lot of complex medical stories such as yours. I won't try to "fix" you or tell you everything will be okay, and I'll be the first to admit I don't know exactly what you are going through but I will always provide a listening ear and validation to know you aren't alone.
I love working with people with medical trauma, or who experience chronic health conditions. I'm also passionate in helping other healthcare workers who might have experienced vicarious trauma or burnout from caring for chronically ill patients or loved ones.
Acceptance is one of the biggest parts of healing and I have found that once we are able to accept things in life, we can start healing and moving forward.
CBT is the tried and true method that works well for many complex issues. It has been shown to be effective across a wide range of mental health concerns.
