About me

Are you looking for a therapy experience that is different from what you see on TV or in movies? Do you dislike the idea of talking to somebody in a suit and tie? I did too. That is why I offer a relaxed, fun, and even a little bit irreverent style of therapy that encourages you to just be you. And I never wear a suit and tie. I specialize in Substance Abuse, Anxiety, Stress, Self-Esteem, and Coping Skills. I'm a disabled Veteran in long-term recovery from alcohol and cocaine abuse after years of addiction, homelessness, & mental health issues. I've used mental health services and am personally aware of the stigma that comes with asking for help. I understand asking for help takes strength, courage, and desire to be your best self. I'm here to help, not judge. I have been practicing since 2008. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with certifications in the treatment of drug and alcohol abuse, anxiety, and the use of telehealth in therapy.

My treatment methods

Eclectic

My therapeutic style is Eclectic. I use several therapy models including CBT, Solution-Focused, and Strengths-based to provide you with the best options to address your concerns.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is utilized in session to help you identify and challenge unhelpful thoughts, learn practical self-help strategies, change or modify your behavior, and develop control over your thoughts, feelings, & behaviors.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

This is short-term, goal-focused, therapy which helps you change by developing solutions rather than focusing on problems.

Strength-Based

A form of therapy that focuses on abilities, knowledge and capabilities/capacities rather than on things that are lacking.
