My name is Amber (#TheUrbanConsciousTherapist) I am a Licensed Certified Social Worker-Clinical, graduating from Morgan State University with my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Social Work. I have experience supporting and working with children, adolescents, and adults who have encountered crises and trauma(s) and those dealing with depression, anxiety, high stress, transitions, grief, relationship problems, women’s issues, and race-gender schema (Strong Black Girl/Woman expectations).
Our first session is all about you—real talk, no judgment. It’s a laid-back vibe where we’ll chop it up, get to know each other, and make sure you feel safe and heard. Bring your favorite snack or drink, and don’t be surprised if you hear some music in the background—because healing comes in all forms. No need to filter yourself—if an F-bomb or S-bomb slips, let it flow. This is your space to be real, be raw, and start your healing journey on your terms.
As your Urban Conscious & Trauma-Informed therapist, I will meet you where you are & support you where you are going. Often times we (and/or others) put high expectations on how we are supposed to show up which creates a sense of anxiety, feeling overwhelmed, keeping a mask on 24/7, and losing our authenticity & voice. I will support & encourage you to find your voice (you ever scream in the shower or car? Try it). I will support & challenge you to say "NO" (trust me it's not a cuss word). I will support you in finding & stepping into your power (put on some boots, we bout to kick life back hard). I will support & celebrate your worth (SHINE BRIGHT LIKE A DIAMOND). I will support & embrace your magic (Yes, I do have a wand, but so do you). I will support & honor your heart work (HEALING VIBES).
I am best positioned to serve those who are navigating life’s challenges while carrying the weight of trauma, societal expectations, and personal struggles. My approach is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and rooted in a deep understanding of the unique experiences that individuals face in mental health, relationships, self-identity, and professional spaces. I specialize in working with clients dealing with anxiety, depression, imposter syndrome, self-esteem struggles, and emotional burnout—especially those in high-stress careers. I also support clients healing from childhood trauma, toxic relationships, family conflicts, and the emotional labor of constantly being “strong.” Ultimately, I serve those who want to break cycles, redefine their self-worth, and heal in a space that sees them fully.

Trauma-Informed Care (TIC) is at the core of my therapeutic approach, ensuring that clients feel safe, empowered, and validated in their healing journey. With over 20 years of experience working with individuals facing trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, self-identity struggles, family dynamics, women issues, and relationship challenges, I integrate Trauma-Informed Care (TIC) principles to create a supportive healing-centered environment that prioritizes emotional safety, trust, and culturally responsive care.
