Hi! I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) Professional based in Florida. I received my Masters from Nova Southeastern University of Florida and have been practicing more recently for about 5years. Nonetheless, I have almost two decades of experience in human services and mental healthcare. I help young and older adults struggling with anxiety, stress, emotional issues and other life concerns with developing the necessary skills to improve their circumstances, lead healthier lifestyles and live life fully. I truly believe that anyone, regardless of who they are, where they come from or the situation they are in, has the potential to thrive.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, discuss important information relevant to treatment such as confidentiality, inquire about some personal history as it relates to what brings you to counseling, then dive into the specific challenges you're currently facing. This will help me better understand your needs and expectations for therapy as well as devise a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am extremely compassionate, patient, empathetic and validating which allows me to deeply understand and connect with the emotions, experiences, and struggles you are going through. With me you never have to worry about being judged.

My treatment methods

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I use person-centered techniques in my practice right from the start and through out treatment. I strive to create a nurturing, safe and validating space where people can freely express their feelings, thoughts, concerns, and reasons for entering therapy. This will be key in developing a strong therapeutic connection which in turn will allows us to work together more efficiently towards those areas you wish to address.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) which is the most effective in assisting individuals to modify unhelpful thought and behavioral patterns. With CBT you'll learn to identify and challenge negative self-talk that may be triggering discomfort, stress, anxiety, low self-worth, depression among other concerns. CBT will assist you to recognize how thoughts, emotions, and behaviors intertwine. We’ll then use this awareness to alter automatic and reactive patterns of thinking to improve your emotional and mental wellbeing.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I typically incorporate mindfulness-based practices into the treatment process. In various forms, mindfulness has helped dozens of clients reduce the rumination and worry that often accompany their anxiety and other mood disorders. It also enables people to better regulate emotions and enhance their quality of life. Mindfulness is more than a skill but rather a mindset that can assist you to be more present in your day-to-day life. Mindfulness techniques can help you to non-judgmentally observe thoughts, feelings, and sensations so you can move towards living life fully. In a therapy session, I will present you with practical grounding, relaxation, and other mindfulness strategies that you can use anywhere and at any time during moments of high stress and /or overwhelming feelings.
