My priority is to meet my clients where they are at in their journey and process. You may struggle with life transitions, codependency, shame or attachment issues. You may gravitate to other things such as substances, unhealthy relationships, food, or negative feedback loops. Some of your goals may be to improve relationships, manage stress and anxiety or set better boundaries and empower yourself.
My passion is helping people through a strengths based lens, working off of strengths that you already possess to help us gain confidence and self esteem. You are the expert of your life! I conduct sessions knowing that most of us come to therapy with deep rooted shame that keeps us in toxic cycles and patterns of thinking. Naming the shame and working towards self compassion is where the magic happens.
From my own personal experience and my education and training I come to session with an open mind, a non-judgemental stance and an overall compassion for you. My goal is to create a therapeutic alliance in which you feel seen, heard and contained in sessions. The session is your time for you, and all that you are!
I love working with adolescents that are struggling with most things that life throws at us at a young age. I love working with couples and families that want to deepen their connections with eachother and strive to create more cohesiveness and compassion with one another. I also love working with all clients who simply want to create a better and healthier life for themselves and love themselves for all that they are!
I have worked as a family therapist for 4 years, and see the very clear connection between child and adolescent issues and parent relationships.
I am trained in CBT and have been practicing CBT for 4 years. For clients that struggle with self esteem, anxiety, depression and OCD, this is a great method.
I have done couples therapy for about a year. Because relationships are the most important aspect of our lives, and connectedness plays a large role in stress, I love seeing couples to help each individual person and the relationship as a whole.
Motivational Interviewing is something I have been practicing for 10 years. I believe fully in clients ability to come to terms with their own motivation for change and seek solution as they progress in treatment.
