I specialize in evaluating, diagnosing, and treating a wide range of psychiatric conditions, including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, psychotic disorders, ADHD, substance abuse, PTSD and OCD, and can perform a full range of medical laboratory and psychological tests which, combined with discussions with patients, medication management and therapy options help provide a picture of patient's physical and mental state and to develop a personalized treatment plan for you.".
At the initial visit, expect to spend a considerable amount of time discussing your concerns and symptoms in detail, you will be asked questions regarding your background, medical history, and current life situation; You will likely also have you fill out paperwork including intake forms and assessments to help determine a diagnosis, and will discuss potential treatment options, including therapy sessions and medications if appropriate, while establishing a healthy relationship and ensuring you feel comfortable sharing information with us.
Strong communication skills to build therapeutic relationship; Active listening to patients, a strong compassionate ability to understand their experiences, a collaborative approach to treatment planning, and the ability to clearly explain complex medical information in a way that is accessible to patients.

Psychoeducation
Actively educating patients about their mental health condition, explaining symptoms, causes, treatment alternatives, and coping mechanisms, and encouraging active participation through discussions, handouts, and interactive exercises; This empowers patients to understand their condition and participate in the decision making process and treatment plan.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Engaging patients in identifying their negative thought patterns, challenging those thoughts and teaching them coping mechanisms to replace cognitive distorsions with more pragmatic, realistic and positive approaches to help them manage their symptoms and improve their overall functioning.
Culturally Sensitive Therapy
Integrating patient's cultural background into our understanding of their experiences, beliefs, and behaviors, by acknowledging their culture, validating their perspectives, and avoiding assumptions; Essentially, tailoring our therapeutic model to respect and acknowledge the unique cultural influences on patient's mental health.
Supportive
Focusing on building a strong therapeutic alliance, actively listening with empathy, validating patient experiences, providing education and coping skills training, setting realistic goals, utilizing positive reinforcement, and normalizing their feelings while ensuring a safe and supportive environment to help them manage their symptoms and improve overall functioning.

The provider himself did what he thought was best and I understand that, however because medications can and have had bad interactions with me and my family in the past, I want to be able to use what I know worked and didn't mess with my mental state in a negative manner.
