***Please schedule appointments on the hour*** My friend, let me ask you this: do you ever feel like you have things you need to say but no one to say them to? Do you think your thoughts are irrational and just stuff them down? Are you feeling alone in your struggles? I’ve got good news for you: If you’re reading this, you’re already taking a step toward getting well! Congratulations; I’m proud of you already! Ok, read on! A lot of times a person feels like his or her issues are so big that it’s overwhelming to even get started on the road to wellness. People get defeated before they even make a move. Listen, I know how this goes; I’ve been there too. Let’s talk it out! Hey Mike, what the heck is a psychotherapist anyway? Sounds scary! Great question! A psychotherapist is a general term for someone who uses talk therapy (or psychotherapy) to work through issues you may need a little extra help to get through. Talk therapy is like a release valve for your emotions; if you don’t let these emotions out periodically, they build up and manifest themselves as anxiety, depression and more. My job is to help you loosen that valve up and enrich your life! If it’s ok with you, I’d love to set up a session to talk. Let me put some of that experience to work for you. I’ve worked with all ages from adolescents to the elderly. I’ve got a safe space waiting; all you have to do is reach out!

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

If you and I end up working together, I want you to know you’re not just a diagnosis to me; You’re a whole person! You’re a complicated machine with a life, with hopes and dreams and aspirations just like anyone else. I really want to lean into that and know the sum of your parts, all of them! Let’s get you the insight you need to thrive!

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Here’s my rap sheet: I’ve been in the psychotherapy field for about 10 years now; I got my start working with sexual assault victims. Before that I was a first responder for 25 years (EMS and volunteer fire). So, it naturally followed for me to specialize in working with first responders as well as trauma victims, and that’s where I am now. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Virginia. I am also a Board Certified NCC (National Certified Counselor). Nice to meet you!
