My identity and therapy practice are highly intertwined as I always say "I am a human before I am a therapist". Yes I went to college and got a big degree but my general desire for my clients is for them to feel like they are sitting with an authentic human who has "been there before". I moved from my home in Eastern KY Appalachia to Louisville in 2019. Having this experience has shown me that there ain't much difference in the suffering people have in the country and the city. I believe that our current society and systems all too often force people into hard spots and then tell them to pull themselves up and keep it pushing. My goal in therapy is to slow things down to normalize for you that we are not working on "what's wrong with you" but instead "what happened to you". This allows you to feel safe enough with me to share the parts of your life/mental that even you don't want to address. That is when you start healing. Cause once you feel seen and supported, you feel empowered enough to figure out how YOU want to live (not how you have been told to). I describe this whole process as you are driving the car and I am riding "shot gun" just pointing things out and making suggestions! I find that my unconditional acceptance of clients, use of real world humor/experiences, and gently pushing for change allows us to start building the skills and strategies you need to live in this world as an authentic you. Another favorite saying of mine is "it's your world my guy I'm just living in it"!

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing telehealth psychotherapy to women across Indiana and Kentucky. My work focuses on anxiety, mood changes, and sleep disruption during perimenopause and menopause. I began developing this specialty after recognizing both clinically and personally how significant the neurohormonal transition of midlife can be. Perimenopause is often discussed medically, but the emotional and cognitive effects are frequently under-addressed. Through both professional experience and my own navigation of this stage, I saw a clear need for structured, evidence-based mental health care designed specifically for women in this transition. My approach is grounded in cognitive behavioral therapy and behavioral sleep strategies. Treatment is practical, collaborative, and focused on stabilizing symptoms while supporting the broader developmental shifts that occur in midlife.

Do you find yourself doubting your needs, overthinking decisions, or feeling responsible for everyone else’s wellbeing? Many women move through the world with expectations and pressures that shape how they show up. My work focuses on helping women understand the “why” behind their emotions and behaviors so they can move through life with more clarity, confidence, and self‑trust. Sometimes personal growth means recognizing that you’re either going to deal with your stuff, or your stuff is going to deal with you. Therapy is a powerful place to begin that process.

Hello, I'm Sarah. I'm a licensed clinical social worker who works with adults virtually in Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky. I strive to be easy to talk to, and I believe therapy should feel like a space where you can show up exactly as you are—without pressure, judgment, or needing to have everything figured out. My practice is collaborative, down-to-earth, and centered on what matters most to you. We’ll make room for whatever you’re carrying, whether it’s stress, relationship challenges, big life changes, old patterns that keep showing up, or simply the feeling that something needs to shift. I’ll listen closely, help you make sense of what’s going on, and support you in finding practical ways to move forward. I want our work to feel real and useful—not overly clinical or one-size-fits-all. I’m a licensed professional clinical counselor and counselor educator with more than a decade of experience in mental health, supervision, and counselor training. I work primarily with adults navigating stress, grief, identity, relationships, life transitions, burnout, and the effects of difficult past experiences. My approach is relational, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that counseling should make room for the complexity of real life. I tend to be warm, thoughtful, straightforward, and curious. I’m not the kind of therapist who simply sits back and nods—I ask questions, offer perspective, and work alongside you to better understand patterns, possibilities, and what might actually be helpful. My practice is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and affirming of LGBTQ+ and other diverse identities and experiences. I especially enjoy working with people who are thoughtful and self-aware but may feel stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure what comes next. I want to continue this journey by providing private individual therapy services. I seek to provide compassionate, client-centered counseling to individuals and families in communities. I seek to help individuals and families grow strong roots by encouraging clients to explore and utilize resources in their communities including family, friends, and faith-based services. I am a holistic and integrative therapist offering somatic psychotherapy online. I support clients who are navigating chronic stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, CPTSD, neurodiversity and high sensitivity. I integrate eastern and western modalities to offer a truly holistic approach to healing and highly effective therapy: Somatic Psychotherapy, Mindfulness-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Reiki & Energy Therapy, Spinal Energetics and Therapeutic Yoga. Our past experiences live in the body and entire system, not only in the mind. I believe it is important to work with the whole self when it comes to healing. My primary approach is somatic-- inviting the body into the conversation and processing emotion, energy and experience through the body-mind.

You can love someone deeply and still recognize that the way you're being treated isn't okay. You can care about others while also learning to care for yourself. Together, let's figure out what's happening, understand why it's happening, challenge the patterns keeping you stuck, and identify what you can actually do differently. Hi there! My name is Dr. Jess Priode (pronounced "Pray-dee") and I believe every person's story deserves to be met with compassion, respect, and understanding. With nearly two decades of experience in the mental health field, I help individuals navigate relationship challenges, anxiety, stress, depression, grief, family conflict, boundaries, self-esteem, and life transitions. I welcome clients from diverse backgrounds and recognize that our identities, cultures, and environments can shape how we experience relationships, stress, and the world around us. I strive to approach each client with cultural humility, curiosity, and respect, rather than making assumptions about what your journey should look like. Life and relationships can be overwhelming. Maybe you're feeling anxious, emotionally drained, stuck in a relationship, struggling to set boundaries, or simply unsure of what comes next. Therapy can provide a space to slow down, gain clarity, understand the patterns keeping you stuck, and develop healthier ways of responding to yourself and the people around you. You deserve a space where your story matters and where you don't have to lose yourself to take care of everyone else. If you're ready to better understand yourself, strengthen your relationships, and feel more confident navigating life's challenges, I'd be honored to walk alongside you.

Frequently asked questions

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in Kentucky. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Kentucky from Bowling Green to Lexington! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Kentucky.

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
