Hi, I am Dr. Maria Mejia, and I have been practicing for over 15 years. I wear several hats, from teaching new therapists as an adjunct professor to supervising new therapists entering the field to my favorite hat, being a therapist. I am trauma trained in several different models, a gender-care expert, a resiliency and burnout prevention expert, and a teen whisperer ( what my teen clients' parents call me).
Our first session involves me getting to know you and how your symptoms have impacted you from your desired sense of well-being. You will also get to know me and ask me any questions or concerns you may have about therapy.
I have a unique skill of getting to the root cause of your distress within a couple of sessions and collaborating with your team of medical professionals, family members, and school/work to implement long-lasting support systems to help you find mental well-being. As a university professor, I am skilled in several therapy models and will adapt the therapy model to fit the client's and family's worldview and preferences. Tambien hablo español.
