As a mental health professional, I specialize in providing discreet, high-quality care to individuals and families. In my practice, I focus on understanding each client's unique needs and creating a safe, compassionate space where they feel heard, valued, and empowered. My passion lies in helping individuals to uncover their strengths and build resilience. I strive to empower clients to overcome challenges, rediscover joy, and achieve their full potential. I value personal goals and values. Whether it's managing anxiety, navigating life transitions, or working through trauma, I am dedicated to providing practical tools and emotional support that lead to meaningful, lasting change. With my diverse background, I bring a unique perspective and skill set. My engineering background provides me with analytical and problem-solving skills that I can apply to client situations.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In the first session, clients can expect a warm, welcoming, and nonjudgmental environment. During the initial session, the client can expect a comprehensive biopsychosocial assessment to better understand their unique needs and challenges. The assessment explores biological factors: medical history, current health concerns, and medications. Family health history and any genetic predisposition; psychological factors: current mental health concerns and emotional well-being. Past mental health diagnoses, behaviors, and emotional regulations; social factors: relationship dynamics, family background, support system, cultural, spiritual, or financial influences. This process allows me to gather a holistic understanding of the client's situation and collaboratively develop a tailored treatment plan.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I tailor my approach to each client's unique needs, seamlessly integrating evidence-based techniques.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I love working with clients who are open to self-exploration, motivated to create positive change, and willing to actively engage in a therapeutic process. The perfect client for me would be a high schooler, middle-aged adult, or older individual who is open to personal growth and values a supportive, collaborative therapeutic process. These clients often have the resources and motivation to invest in their well-being, making them highly engaged in their journey toward emotional and psychological health. They seek meaningful change in their lives.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In my practice, I utilize CBT by first conducting a thorough assessment of the client's presenting problems and identifying any maladaptive thought patterns or behaviors that may be contributing to their distress. I then work collaboratively with the client to set specific, achievable goals for therapy and develop a treatment plan that targets these problematic areas. During therapy sessions, I employ various CBT techniques, such as cognitive restructuring, behavioral activation, and exposure therapy, to help clients challenge and change their negative thinking patterns and develop more adaptive coping strategies. I also emphasize the importance of homework assignments and skill-building exercises to help clients practice and generalize their new skills outside of therapy sessions. Through my extended experience with CBT, I have witnessed significant improvements in my clients' symptoms and overall well-being. By empowering clients to take an active role in their treatment and providing them with practical tools to manage their symptoms, CBT has proven to be a highly effective and empowering approach to therapy.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

This approach emphasizes the importance of the therapist creating a non-judgmental and empathetic environment in which the client feels accepted and understood. The therapist takes a supportive role, helping the client explore their own thoughts, feelings, and experiences in order to gain insight and make positive changes in their life. The focus is on the client's self-discovery and growth, with the therapist acting as a facilitator rather than an expert. This approach is based on the belief that individuals have the capacity for self-actualization and personal growth and are the experts in their own lives.

Strength-Based

My approach to therapy focuses on identifying and building upon a person's strengths, resources, and abilities rather than focusing solely on their problems or weaknesses. This approach emphasizes the individual's positive qualities and attributes, helping them recognize their resilience and capacity for growth. By highlighting and utilizing these strengths, clients can develop a greater sense of empowerment, self-confidence, and motivation to make positive changes in their lives. Strength-based therapy can be particularly effective in helping individuals overcome challenges, build resilience, and achieve their goals.

Psychoeducation

The sessions are focused on providing individuals with information about their mental health condition, symptoms, and treatment options. It aims to increase understanding and awareness of the condition, as well as teach coping skills and strategies to manage symptoms. This type of therapy can be beneficial for individuals with various mental health conditions, such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia. It is often used in conjunction with other forms of therapy, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy or medication management.
