Hi, welcome! I am a bilingual (English and Mandarin Chinese) Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have a Master’s degree (Summa Cum Laude) in Marriage and Family Therapy and am currently a third-year PhD candidate in Couples and Family Therapy at Nova Southeastern University. I am professionally trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, solution-focused therapy, Bowen’s theory, Gottman Method, CBT, and more. I work mainly with clients who are struggling with anxiety, depression, grief & loss, trauma, self-esteem, or relationship issues. I also work with clients who want to work on self-growth and gain more insight in life.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we will start with brief introductions, then dive deep into the specific challenges you are facing. You can share with me any of your concerns as well as any goals that you may already have. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in the follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked with various clients from diverse backgrounds, I have developed exceptionally broad perspectives and therapeutic approaches, while emphasizing open-mindedness and transparency. Comfort is a crucial part of my philosophy when creating the therapeutic space, where I strive to create a safe and non-judgmental environment that makes you feel supported throughout our sessions.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I work extremely well with clients who are eager to improve. They often have the drive and commitment and are willing to put in the necessary effort. Most of my clients often noticed a positive change or growth within one month of treatment.

My treatment methods

EMDR

EMDR's goal is to help you heal from trauma or other distressing life experiences. It has been extremely effective and popular among my clients, and has shown very positive results. My clients who agreed to EMDR therapy have reported that they have benefited from the treatment one way or another.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

SFBT is very useful to help you set goals and figure out what you truly need and want, as well as how to identify change and growth. It is a methodology that is solution-focused instead of problem-focused, which can be extremely beneficial for clients who is urgent to experience change.

Couples Counseling

As a marriage and family therapist, I am well-trained and experienced in finding commonalities and resolutions between couples. My goal is to help couples understand the misunderstood, speak the unspoken, improve communication, and discover hope from hopelessness.

Gottman method

Gottman's seven principles of making marriage work have been extremely helpful to rebuild trust and strengthening the bond between couples. It is very effective among couples who struggle with communication and understanding/interpretation.

Integrative

I believe that each client is comprised of unique yet charismatic components such as personal upbringings, religious beliefs, and cultural backgrounds, that all contribute to narrating a cohesive personal story. Integrative treatment method allows me to tailor my treatment orientations by integrating different treatment methods to best serve each person's individuality.
