My approach to therapy is meeting you where you are at and helping support you in your journey of life. I offer a safe space to cry, laugh, mourn, and be completely yourself. This space is a place where you will be heard and supported. My role is not to fix you or to impose my views on how to live. My role is to observe and reflect alongside you while I watch you accomplish your goals for yourself. My main areas of expertise are LGBTQ+ issues, anxiety, trauma, and relational issues for individuals, couples and families. I utilize Attachment-based therapy, CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), ACT (acceptance commitment therapy), and other therapy tools when necessary. Let’s be real, life can be hard! I know firsthand the importance of having someone to help and support during difficult times. Whether that is learning to cope with depression, anxiety, wanting to improve your families relationship, or working through marital issues. Support is something we all need, and I would be honored to walk along you during your journey of life *Fees can be discussed when scheduling appointments if doing cash pay. Rate seen on profile is not set in stone, as everyone's financial situation is different, and want to make therapy affordable.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session is really about getting to know you and why you are seeking therapy. It may seem like I am asking a lot of questions, but it's to understand what you are looking for, and if I am the best person to help you achieve your goals. It is also a chance for you to ask me questions and understand how I approach therapy.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I enjoy working with LGBTQ+ individuals. As someone who is a part of the community, I feel I bring not only clinical skills, but personal experience. My other strengths are anxiety, trauma, couples counseling, emotion regulation, parent management, as well as family conflict and relationship issues.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I have used this modality from the beginning when I started working with clients. I have done online courses, and have read many materials on how to use this approach. ACT helps us learn how to defuse from our thoughts, and not see them as bad, but information. We can choose to use this information if it is useful to us, or we can acknowledge we have this thought, and move on from it if it is not helping us. Thoughts do not have power over us, and this modality helps us reinforce that.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

I have been able to read many materials, as well as taken some courses on how to implement this modality. This is what I primarily use for couples counseling. This modality helps couples and individuals learn their attachment style, and how this affects us in our relationships with our spouse, or anyone close in our life. It's understanding what you are feeling, but also how to create new patterns, so you are not stuck in the same negative cycle with your partner, or any close relationship.
