I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 15 years’ experience in mental health and addictions therapy. I assist all adults with addiction, low self-esteem, grief/ loss, abandonment, and other mental health conditions where life is no longer enjoyable. My clinical intervention can impact wellness, a better understanding of self, setting healthy boundaries, acceptance, and create meaning in your life.
Our first session with brief introductions where you can inform me of your expectations of therapy. Then, we can discuss any challenges or issues you want to address. This will assist me in creating a treatment plan that is personalized to you and your needs.
As someone who is neuro divergent, what makes we unique is that I have actual experience in addressing challenging issues and concerns that most adults face in their lifetime.
I enjoy working with any adult population who currently feels "stuck" and "exhausted" in doing everything on your own. Also, I strive to assist all clients to understand and navigate through thoughts and feelings of depression, anxiety, trauma, and other struggles that they find themselves. I have specific training in working with addictions, sexual abuse, grief/ loss, and any current/past trauma.
Jay Thompson offers therapy covered by Managed Health Services (Managed Medicaid), Medicaid - Managed Health Services and UnitedHealthcare/Optum - Medicaid in Indiana.
My style of the clinical approach to therapy is relatable and authentic. My experience with CBT is for the client to better understand their negative thought patterns and how to combat those distortions where the client have a significant improvement in his or his quality of life.
