Rachel Freiberg was born and raised in Parkland, Florida. After completing her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Criminology at the University of Central Florida, she obtained her Master's in Mental Health Counseling at Nova Southeastern University. She then furthered her training and became a Registered Play Therapist by the Association of Play Therapy. She has extensive and diverse experience in school, community health, substance abuse, and penal facilities. She is comfortable in individual, family, and group settings. She is especially experienced in the area of child and adolescent trauma. Rachel designs her treatment plans with a tailored approach to meet the unique needs of each of her clients. Fundamentally, this is based upon creating a strong therapeutic bond by cultivating a safe, judgement free environment. Commonly employed therapeutic modalities include cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, person-centered therapy, and play therapy (for children). What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first session we will discuss the things that are important to you. You will have a chance to tell me what's going right and what you want to go better. During our intake session I'll take a detailed report of all the relevant information from your past and current day life.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

Solution-focused therapy- a goal directed collaborative approach to change. Focuses on solutions to problems or issues while utilizing a persons unique strengths. Cognitive behavioral therapy- a treatment approach that helps you recognize negative or unhelpful thought patterns. CBT can help you identify and explore the ways your emotions and thoughts can affect your actions.
