As a humanistic therapist, I maintain a positive approach to psychotherapy by focusing on strengths and positive attributes. I assist my clients with developing a stronger, healthier sense of self, and with making rational choices towards achieving their maximum potential. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with 11 years of experience providing psychotherapy to children and their families at a community mental health agency, and psychotherapy in private practice to adults and adolescents.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
During our first session I will gather relevant information and begin setting goals for therapy. Since it is vital to have a good therapist-client relationship, we can both determine if moving forward with therapy is appropriate.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
Relationship / Marriage Issues - I assist clients with recognizing and improving difficulties in their relationships (e.g., communication, intimacy, parenting, boundaries, value differences, jealousy). Anxiety - I help clients to identify and address what is causing their anxiety. I work with clients to develop better coping and problem-solving skills. Use various strategies, including relaxation and mindfulness, which are helpful for many clients. Adolescent/young adult Issues - I worked with adolescents for 7 years at a community health agency. I was placed at a high school and met with students throughout the school day. Worked on various issues, including depression, anxiety, anger, and daily life challenges. Met with parents and also held family sessions.
