I am a family oriented psychiatric nurse practitioner with over 3 years of experience working in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Prior to this, I spent 13 years as a psychiatric nurse, honing my skills in diverse care environments. I work with adolescents, adults, and the elderly, providing compassionate, and evidence-based mental health care tailored to each individual’s needs. l believe in Albus Dumbledore’s Quote “Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if only one remembers to turn on the light”. We are here to walk with you, listen and provide the best options for your health.”

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In your first session with me, you can expect a welcoming and supportive environment where we begin to get to know each other. We’ll start by discussing your current concerns, medical and mental health history, and any specific goals or challenges you may have. I’ll ask some questions to better understand your experiences, but you are encouraged to share at your own pace. Together, we’ll work on developing a personalized plan tailored to your needs, setting the stage for our future sessions. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, understood, and hopeful about the next steps in your care journey.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strengths as a provider lie in my comprehensive, holistic approach, combining both therapy and medication management to address a wide range of mental health conditions. In therapy sessions, I excel at creating a safe, collaborative environment where clients feel supported in exploring their thoughts and emotions. I am skilled in utilizing evidence-based techniques like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and supportive therapy, tailoring my approach to meet each client's needs. When it comes to medication management, I have a thorough understanding of psychiatric medications and disease processes, allowing me to develop individualized treatment plans that consider both therapeutic and pharmacological options. This dual approach helps me optimize care and support clients in achieving better mental health outcomes.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I am best positioned to serve adolescents, young and older adults, and elderly clients who are navigating challenges related to mental health. My expertise lies in supporting individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma, and life transitions. I work well with clients who are open to exploring their thoughts and emotions and who are seeking a collaborative approach to develop coping skills and strategies for improved well-being. Whether in-person or virtual, I aim to create a safe, supportive environment tailored to meet the unique needs of each age group.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

As a nurse practitioner providing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in an outpatient setting, I deliver individualized care both in-office and through virtual sessions. My experience with CBT has demonstrated its effectiveness in treating a variety of conditions such as anxiety, depression, and trauma-related disorders. I work closely with patients to identify negative thought patterns and behaviors, helping them develop healthier ways of thinking and responding. Whether in person or online, I tailor each session to meet the unique needs of the patient, utilizing the flexibility of the virtual format to maintain continuity of care. This approach has proven successful in empowering patients to make meaningful, lasting changes in their lives.

Supportive

In my practice as a nurse practitioner, I often utilize supportive therapy in both outpatient and virtual settings. This method focuses on building a strong therapeutic relationship to provide patients with a safe and nonjudgmental space for discussing their challenges. I use supportive therapy to help patients process emotions, validate their experiences, and enhance coping skills. Whether in office or online, my approach is collaborative and patient-centered, allowing me to meet clients where they are and provide consistent, empathetic guidance. This method has proven particularly effective in helping patients feel understood and supported, fostering resilience and improved well-being.
