Are you a mama adjusting to life with a newborn? Is the transition to parenthood different than what you were expecting? Do you feel like you are faking it when you are really drowning? Are you exhausted and struggling with self-doubt? Maybe you are longing to hold your newborn, but instead experienced miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant loss. I specialize in maternal mental health where I help perinatal and postpartum clients adjust to life changes associated with their unique situations. My areas of expertise are in pregnancy and postpartum support, trying to conceive, birth trauma, and loss. I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and mindfulness in session to promote recovery. Starting therapy can be daunting, but you deserve to have a space where you can be vulnerable and not face any judgment. I have walked this journey, and want you to know that there is hope on the other side. I would love to join you as you take your first steps towards healing. Please reach out to schedule your first appointment. Please send me a message if you need a time that is not currently marked as available, and I will see if I can adjust my schedule. You can email me at counseling@lydiahentz.org.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we will review what you can expect from therapy and the benefits and challenges of virtual therapy. We will then discuss what specifically brings you to therapy, and come up with a plan to address those needs.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am passionate about maternal mental health. We lovingly sacrifice a lot for our children, but that sacrifice should not be at the expense of our own health and wellbeing. My strength is joining you in the trenches and helping you find your identity as a mother, without ignoring the other aspects of yourself.
