Hello and welcome! I know that getting started can be overwhelming and I appreciate the opportunity to be able to help you along the way. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Pennsylvania. I have a Master's Degree in Counseling with a specialization in Marriage and Family therapy, as well as a degree in Psychology. I have over 18 years of experience, helping clients in a variety of settings including outpatient clinics, schools, and family therapy agencies. My clinical interests include managing stress and changes in your life, women's issues, relationships, grief and loss, overcoming trauma, parenting, navigating times of transition, and incorporating nature into your overall wellness. My therapeutic approach is holistic and person-centered. My role is to help you find your way on your path to true happiness and peace, whatever that means for you. I will help you set personal goals for yourself and support you every step of the way. I will be a listening ear, supporting you in whatever daily struggles you experience, or any life changes you are facing. You may want to explore current and past personal relationships, choices and experiences as we work toward your current goals. I look forward to meeting you and working with you! Please note that I am currently available for daytime appointments and have no current evening availability.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The intake session is really about getting a feel for what is bringing you to therapy and what you might want to gain (or let go of) through therapy. Part of the goal of the first session is determining if we are a good fit together. One of the most important factors in therapy being successful is your comfort level. If after the first session, we both feel that I could be a good fit for you, great. If not, that is okay too.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I specialize in helping people through times of transition or stress. This can be things such as navigating social relationships, managing parenting stressors, struggles with infertility, pregnancy and post-partum support, work stress, and managing symptoms of anxiety or depression. Clients tend to describe me as warm and easy to talk to.

My treatment methods

Strength-Based

We start with trying to figure out what is going well. How do we use your strengths to move your life in the direction you are hoping to.

Supportive

I want you to leave therapy sessions feeling heard and supported.

Trauma Informed Care

I operate from a Trauma-informed approach. We will be able to process any early traumas to try to lessen the impact they are having on your life now. Take control of your life instead of feeling like it is controlling you.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In so many situations, it is the way that we are thinking about the situation, more than the situation itself, that leads us to feel defeated or stressed. Lets take a look at some of your automatic thoughts and your thinking patterns to see what role they may be playing in how you manage your stress.
