I am a counseling psychologist with over 20 years of experience in delivering evidence-based treatments for depression, anxiety, trauma, and substance use. My goal is to provide a caring, understanding, and nonjudgmental space for my clients in our therapeutic relationship. I truly believe you have what you need to overcome your barriers and struggles. I will help you uncover those strengths, so you can use them to meet current and future challenges.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first session, I will learn more about your life currently and what brings you to therapy. Through active, reflective listening and open-ended questions, I will try to more deeply understand your needs and preferences when it comes to therapy. Together we will begin to develop a shared understanding of your struggles and your strengths and set the goals you want to work toward in follow up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am experienced in a number of therapeutic modalities and skills that fall under the umbrella of cognitive behavioral interventions. I have become skilled at helping clients identify the skills that fit their preferences and circumstances that they can implement successfully outside of session to feel better and function optimally.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

My practice is primarily grounded in CBT. I use this so my clients and I better understand how thoughts, feelings, behaviors are connected to a their struggles. I use this roadmap to help client's identify what to focus on in therapy that will help them improve their functioning.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I have found mindfulness-based skills and interventions help clients gain the awareness needed deeply understand themselves and their needs. This understanding also helps to clarify the thoughts, feelings and behaviors that can be addressed in therapy to help clients feel better.

Motivational Interviewing

I use motivational interviewing to learn about what is important to my clients and make sure the goals we set together are relevant to them and align with their values. I also use it to help my clients explore barriers to the reaching their goals and how to overcome them.
