LCSW, 20 years of experience
I’m a licensed therapist with over 20 years of experience helping adults navigate life transitions, relationship challenges, stress, anxiety, depression, and the lingering effects of past trauma. Over the years, I’ve worked with people from all walks of life, and one thing I know for certain is that healing looks different for everyone. My style is warm, curious, and practical—I want our sessions to feel supportive and encouraging, while also giving you tools you can use in daily life.
In a first psychotherapy session with me, the focus will be entirely on you. We will spend time building rapport and creating a comfortable space for open conversation. I will ask about what brought you to therapy and what is most important to you right now. This session will also involve getting to know a bit about your history, which will help me understand your unique circumstances and how best to support you moving forward. The goal is to establish a trusting relationship and set the foundation for our work together.
My greatest strength as a provider is my ability to offer compassionate, solutions-oriented care tailored to each individual's unique circumstances. With extensive experience across diverse settings and a wide range of populations, I excel in creating a collaborative therapeutic environment where clients feel supported and empowered. My focus on building trusting relationships, combined with your adaptability in utilizing various therapeutic frameworks, ensures that your clients receive personalized, effective treatment that addresses both immediate needs and long-term well-being.
I am best positioned to work with individuals who are ready and committed to making meaningful changes in their lives. My approach is compassionate and personalized, focusing on understanding your unique circumstances and strengths. Whether you're facing complex challenges or seeking to improve your overall well-being, I provide the support and guidance needed to help you achieve your goals. Together, we will work in a collaborative and holistic manner, ensuring that your journey toward change is empowered and focused on long-term success.
Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) is designed to help individuals process and heal from traumatic experiences. This approach combines cognitive-behavioral techniques with trauma-sensitive principles to address the impact of trauma on your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Through TF-CBT, we work together to understand and reframe distressing thoughts, develop coping skills, and gradually confront and resolve the trauma, all while ensuring a supportive and safe therapeutic environment.
In our sessions, I use psychodynamic therapy to explore how unconscious processes and past experiences shape your current thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. This approach focuses on understanding the influence of early life experiences and internal conflicts on your present life. By examining these underlying dynamics, we work to uncover patterns and gain insight into how they impact your relationships and emotional well-being. The goal is to help you achieve a deeper self-awareness and resolve internal conflicts, leading to meaningful and lasting change.
In our sessions, I incorporate Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) alongside psychodynamic principles to provide a balanced approach to your treatment. While psychodynamic therapy helps uncover and understand underlying issues and past experiences, SFBT focuses on identifying your strengths and resources to find practical solutions and achieve your goals in a shorter timeframe. This combination allows us to address both the root causes of your challenges and to develop actionable steps for immediate and positive change.

Great intake call! Patrice was very forthcoming and offered solutions for ways to move forward and issues to focus on. She also shared her initial thoughts on my goals and made connections to her approach/expertise and how she can be helpful in me reach them.

I reallyy liked Patrice, She was very upfront and her boundaries when it came to confidentially, which I appreciated the honesty. She also made sure I was comfortable and that I knew that she values relationships with patients and that she's here if I ever need her. She was an active listener and was able to follow my side tangents easily while also being able to bring me back without interrupting. I really loved her and she was very professional.
