As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over two decades of experience, I’ve worked in diverse settings, from primary care to inpatient psychiatric hospitals, urgent care, child welfare, the criminal justice system, and community-based treatment facilities. My approach to therapy is centered around you, focusing on your unique strengths and circumstances. I believe in the power of collaboration and value your feedback as we work together to create a personalized treatment plan. I draw from various therapeutic frameworks, always aiming to build a trusting, trauma-informed relationship that supports your journey towards recovery and overall well-being.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In a first psychotherapy session with me, the focus will be entirely on you. We will spend time building rapport and creating a comfortable space for open conversation. I will ask about what brought you to therapy and what is most important to you right now. This session will also involve getting to know a bit about your history, which will help me understand your unique circumstances and how best to support you moving forward. The goal is to establish a trusting relationship and set the foundation for our work together.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strength as a provider is my ability to offer compassionate, solutions-oriented care tailored to each individual's unique circumstances. With extensive experience across diverse settings and a wide range of populations, I excel in creating a collaborative therapeutic environment where clients feel supported and empowered. My focus on building trusting relationships, combined with your adaptability in utilizing various therapeutic frameworks, ensures that your clients receive personalized, effective treatment that addresses both immediate needs and long-term well-being.

My treatment methods

Trauma-Focused CBT

Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) is designed to help individuals process and heal from traumatic experiences. This approach combines cognitive-behavioral techniques with trauma-sensitive principles to address the impact of trauma on your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Through TF-CBT, we work together to understand and reframe distressing thoughts, develop coping skills, and gradually confront and resolve the trauma, all while ensuring a supportive and safe therapeutic environment.

Psychodynamic

In our sessions, I use psychodynamic therapy to explore how unconscious processes and past experiences shape your current thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. This approach focuses on understanding the influence of early life experiences and internal conflicts on your present life. By examining these underlying dynamics, we work to uncover patterns and gain insight into how they impact your relationships and emotional well-being. The goal is to help you achieve a deeper self-awareness and resolve internal conflicts, leading to meaningful and lasting change.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

In our sessions, I incorporate Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) alongside psychodynamic principles to provide a balanced approach to your treatment. While psychodynamic therapy helps uncover and understand underlying issues and past experiences, SFBT focuses on identifying your strengths and resources to find practical solutions and achieve your goals in a shorter timeframe. This combination allows us to address both the root causes of your challenges and to develop actionable steps for immediate and positive change.
