Are you having a hard time? Feeling depressed, anxious, or stressed? If so, I can be your guide on the path to change. If you are looking for a therapist who is approachable yet direct, I may be the LMFT for you! Feeling connected to your therapist is vital for effective treatment. Therefore, I strive to be approachable, authentic, and most importantly, present for you. My sessions are oriented in talk therapy via telehealth. I provide treatment to clients in the state of California and graduated with my Masters of Science degree in Counseling from Sacramento State University. Working as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I have over eight years of experience in community mental health centers, non-profits, hospital systems, and inpatient settings.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our initial session, we will spend time exploring your background and discussing the changes you are hoping to achieve. Following this, we will create a personalized treatment plan and schedule a follow up session.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to genuinely connect with clients. I strive to create a safe and supportive environment in which you will feel both understood and valued.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a widely used, evidence based form of therapy that focuses on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It helps clients identify and change negative thought patterns that contribute to emotional distress and unhealthy coping. CBT is helpful for clients dealing with a range of challenges and empowers them to take an active role in their treatment. I have utilized CBT throughout my counseling career to help my clients identify and challenge unhelpful thoughts and beliefs that contribute to emotional distress.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) is a type of therapy that emphasizes balancing acceptance and change. It offers a structured approach to developing healthier coping skills, improving emotional resilience, and fostering more stable relationships. This treatment method has proven effective for a wide range of mental health issues by teaching the four key skills of mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. I have used various DBT skills with many of my clients over the years to assist with self regulation, strengthening relationships, and decreasing impulsive behaviors.

Brainspotting

Brainspotting is a powerful tool that can be used to access and process depression, trauma, anxiety, and other challenges by connecting with deeper parts of the brain. I use brainspotting with clients of mine who need treatment beyond just talk therapy. I use this to assist them with establishing a mind-body connection, creating a safe space, and self regulation.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is a goal-oriented, brief therapy approach that emphasizes finding solutions rather than focusing on problems. SFBT focuses on client strengths, goal setting, and is future oriented. I have used SFBT with a number of clients who are looking for a time-limited and empowering approach to meeting their goals.

Grief Therapy

Grief therapy aims to help clients navigate the complex emotions and challenges that arise after experiencing a significant loss. In grief therapy I assist with processing emotions, providing an understanding of the grieving process, developing coping strategies, and creating meaning. I strive to provide support to my grieving clients and practical tools to help with moving forward at their own pace while honoring their grieving process. My experience with grief includes working with adults who are grieving a death, living losses, and pet loss.
