I am a Therapist who is a little bit more "seasoned" than most of the Clinician's that seem to be available in most practices, where my many life experiences have helped me work toward the main goal in my life, to be able to come along side others. Every client has their own stories which bring them to the place of seeking help and the seasoning(s) occurring in my life have helped me to be able to empathetically listen to the client's particular situation(s) and help them work toward achieving the goals and therapy outcomes they are seeking in their own lives.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session allows the opportunity for the client to detail what are the circumstances which have created their need for therapy and to describe the goals the would like to achieve in their therapy. This time allows client's to get to know me, the therapist, and for me to determine if I am able to help them achieve the session goals they may be seeking. Much of the time during this first session will be focused on asking historical/background client information and listening to what is occurring in their lives which have created the need to attend their counseling session.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Many of my past clients have indicated that it is my many years of life experiences and my ability to help them work toward achieving their own particular goals which have been beneficial to their success in their therapy.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

Clients that are willing to work toward their own recovery, rather than be told what to do, will find my sessions worthwhile. The empathy to come alongside others often helps clients be more comfortable in sitting with me, knowing that I will allow them to speak to and work toward their own particular circumstances and goals . But there is also the recognition that the many tools/strategies/methodologies that I use to help them achieve their therapy goals were experientially used to move me toward the positive outcomes I have achieved. My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

The primary treatment methodology used in my therapy is CBT; which is utilized to help clients learn and incorporate cognitive and behavioral strategies into their lives which can move them toward reaching the goals and changes they seek in their therapy sessions. A number of supporting strategies/methodologies are incorporated into the CBT treatment which strengthen the client's ability to move toward their desired therapy goals; Attachment-based strategies, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy methodologies, EFT strategies for individuals and couples. I will use Gottman's Couples Therapy Methods and EFT methodologies for Couples in sessions with couples. If approved by the Client, I find that the incorporation of Christian Counseling principles and strategies during the client's sessions will often bring the effective and lasting changes being sought.
