I am a LCSW with almost 20 years experience in behavioral health. I enjoy working with clients of all ages, and I use a variety of methods based on what fits their unique circumstances and personality. My approach involves partnering with clients to determine what course of treatment is best for them, while honoring their insight and self-determination. Clients can expect a collaborative compassionate process that seeks to restore and enhance their emotional wellness.
Our first session will involve going over the client's social history and reasons for seeking service. We will craft a plan based on the specific goals and needs of each client. Much of the first session is spent helping the client feel comfortable and answering any questions they may have about the process and their diagnosis.
My greatest strengths are my compassionate approach to care, as well as my vast experience in the field. Clients can trust that they will receive an accurate diagnosis and reliable plan of care.
Throughout my career I have gained experience with a wide variety of diagnosis. I treat all ages and most conditions, with the exception of eating disorders and issues pertaining to sexuality.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is useful for clients who have specific behavioral goals that can be connected to internal patterns of thinking/perceiving the world. It is often used in conjunction with other methods.
CPT is a useful method when working with clients who have a history of trauma. It provides a concrete framework from which to work through the trauma, while providing support and structure for the client throughout the process.
Eclectic methods are simply a combination of methods that can be useful when clients present with needs in various domains. For example, some clients initially engage in CBT but later other methods are introduced such as family therapy, CPT, etc.
Faith based therapy is helpful when dealing with issues of spirituality, or even when assisting clients who identify heavily with their faith. This can help filter out "secular" methods at the client's request, while supporting the client in the area where they find the most comfort or motivation.
Group therapy can be useful when dealing with chronic issues or behavioral patterns that benefit from a longterm interactive approach.
