Hello! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Mental Health Service Provider designation (LPC-MHSP) based in the state of Tennessee. I received my Masters from Freed-Hardeman University five years ago and have been working with people struggling with trauma, grief, anxiety, and depression since that time. I am passionate about helping my clients reclaim purpose and joy in their lives.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session we will introduce ourselves briefly and then turn our focus to some of the things that led you to see me. You may share as much or as little as you desire in our sessions together. I understand that trust must be built. You will have the opportunity to share the goals you hope to achieve and the things you would like to see changed over the course of our work together. This will help as we collaborate to develop a plan of action to effect those changes in meaningful and lasting ways in your life.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am the product of counseling myself. My philosophy is that every good counselor has a good counselor. It would be unfair and even hypocritical to ask you to do something for yourself that I was unwilling to do for myself. I see this as a strength to be leveraged for your benefit. I believe my ability to connect with people as individuals and identify their specific and unique needs aids me as an effective therapist.

My treatment methods

EMDR

I utilize EMDR to help clients desensitize and reprocess traumatic experiences. EMDR has also been useful in managing anxiety and depression in many clients.

Narrative

Narrative therapy is a tremendous tool for clients who would benefit from changing the story they tell themselves about themselves.

Grief Therapy

Grieving is an intimate and personal process. I take the time to help people grieve in their own way and make efforts to help people realize their next steps forward.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is a way to identify and work with all of our broken thoughts, or thoughts that are neither helpful nor true.
