About me

I am a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing compassionate, comprehensive, and personalized mental health care. I have extensive experience evaluating and treating a wide range of mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, OCD, PTSD, and other mood and behavioral health concerns. I believe quality mental health care begins with listening. I take the time to understand your concerns, experiences, and treatment goals while creating a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where you can feel heard and respected. My approach is patient-centered, holistic, and evidence-based. I work collaboratively with you to develop an individualized treatment plan that may include medication management, supportive therapy, and practical strategies to improve your emotional well-being and daily functioning. My goal is to help you better understand your mental health, feel confident in your treatment decisions, and make meaningful progress toward the life you want to live.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and develop a clear understanding of what brings you to care. We will review your current concerns, symptoms, medical and mental health history, previous treatments, medications, lifestyle, and the goals you would like to work toward. I want you to feel comfortable asking questions and sharing what is important to you. Together, we will discuss what may be contributing to your symptoms and review treatment options that fit your individual needs and preferences. This may include medication, therapy strategies, lifestyle changes, or a combination of approaches. By the end of the first visit, my goal is for you to feel heard, have a better understanding of your treatment options, and leave with a clear, personalized plan for moving forward. You do not need to have everything figured out before your appointment—we will work through it together.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

What makes my approach unique is the balance between compassion, honesty, and collaboration. My professional and life experiences have taught me that people do not always need someone to immediately “fix” what they are going through—sometimes they first need a safe space to feel heard, understood, and respected. In our sessions, I will meet you where you are. There are times when I will sit with you, listen, and give you the space you need to process your thoughts and emotions. At other times, I may gently challenge patterns, beliefs, or behaviors that could be keeping you from reaching your goals. I believe growth often requires both support and accountability. I am not here to judge or tell you how to live your life. My role is to help you understand yourself more clearly, recognize your strengths, explore what may be getting in your way, and make informed decisions about your mental health. I strive to create a comfortable, down-to-earth environment where you can be yourself while knowing that I will also be honest with you when a different perspective may help you move forward.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal client is someone who is ready to better understand their mental health and take an active role in their treatment. You may be struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood changes, difficulty concentrating, sleep concerns, stress, or simply feeling unlike yourself and unsure of what to do next. You do not need to have everything figured out before starting care. I work well with clients who are open to honest conversations, willing to explore their symptoms and patterns, and interested in finding practical ways to feel and function better. My goal is to work collaboratively with you to develop a treatment plan that fits your needs, preferences, and lifestyle. Whether your goal is to improve your mood, feel less anxious, increase focus, strengthen coping skills, or regain a greater sense of balance and control, I want you to feel heard, supported, and actively involved in your care.

My treatment methods

Motivational Interviewing

I use motivational interviewing to help patients explore their own reasons for change rather than telling them what they should do. I ask open-ended questions, listen carefully, and help patients identify what matters most to them, including their goals, values, concerns, and any barriers that may be making change difficult. When someone feels unsure or conflicted about making a change, I work with them to better understand that ambivalence without judgment. Together, we look at the benefits and challenges of their current choices and discuss what changes, if any, feel realistic and meaningful to them. My goal is to help patients feel empowered and actively involved in their care. Instead of pushing for change, I help patients strengthen their own motivation, recognize their strengths, and build confidence in their ability to make decisions that support their mental health and overall well-being.

Supportive

I use supportive therapy to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where patients can talk openly about what they are experiencing and feel heard, understood, and supported. During sessions, I listen closely, validate emotions, and help patients make sense of difficult situations, relationships, or patterns that may be affecting their mental health. I also help patients recognize their strengths, build healthier coping skills, and develop practical strategies for managing stress, anxiety, mood changes, and everyday challenges. When appropriate, I offer encouragement, perspective, and gentle guidance while allowing patients to move at a pace that feels comfortable for them. My goal with supportive therapy is to help patients feel less alone in what they are facing, strengthen their confidence and resilience, and provide consistent support as they work toward greater emotional stability and overall well-being.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques to help patients better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we identify thought patterns that may be contributing to anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, or other emotional challenges and explore healthier, more balanced ways of thinking. I help patients recognize unhelpful patterns, question automatic negative thoughts, and develop practical coping strategies they can use in everyday situations. We may also focus on problem-solving, behavior changes, and building routines that support emotional well-being. My approach to CBT is collaborative and practical. I do not simply tell patients to “think positively.” Instead, I help them look at situations from different perspectives, identify what is within their control, and develop tools that can help them respond to challenges in healthier and more effective ways. My goal is to help patients feel more confident in managing their symptoms and navigating difficult situations both during and outside of our sessions.
