Hey there! My name is Alejandra, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of California and Massachusetts. I have primarily worked in hospital settings, with 5 years experience, working with veterans and families, addressing multiple psychosocial needs. In my experience, I have also provided services with supportive counseling in grief/bereavement(individual and group) , anxiety, and goal oriented tasks.
During our first session, I will take the time to get to know you as a person. I am interested to know what makes you "You," and what challenges you are experiencing at the time to help me understand what approach to take to best provide you with support.
A few of my strengths as a provider: Active listening, empathetic, open communication, open-mindedness, understanding of different cultures and the impact culture plays, flexibility, humor.
I enjoy working with adults, older adults, and veteran populations.
Interested in challenging and learning more about your negative thought patterns? I guide individuals, with structured sessions, by recognizing their thought patterns , how these thought patterns are impacting you and your behaviors, and overall empower individuals to develop healthier coping skills effectively.
As a current provider of hospice and palliative care, I understand how grief presents very differently in individuals. In our sessions, I will provide a safe and empathetic space for you to discuss your grief journey, help you understand stages of grief, with emphasis on reflective exercises and dialogue.
I assist individuals to focus on their current strengths and resources, and how these strengths can support your overall goals to achieve. This will be goal-oriented and structured sessions, I will guide individuals by identifying solutions to their immediate issues by empowering individuals to use their current strengths.
