I saw my first patient in 1973, It was in Argentina. By the end of th 70's I left my country and lived in many different places until in 1982 Long Island University became my Alma Mater. I did a Masters degree in Guidance and another one in Mental Health. I did explore diffrent therapeutic approaches since then and I feel very confortable using what i think it is needed in order to produce an as fast as possible improvement.
To start getting to know each other and to develop rapport between us. The ultimate goal is to build a trust that could be used to make changes in for instance the way the patient sees his/her problems.
I have patience and can wait for a person to explore different solutions to his/her needs. If there is a stone on the road, I try and help to remove it.
I have been working many years for the New York City Board of Education and experimented therapies with children of all ages. Recently I have decided to work with adults as the work with children online has many difficulties for me.
I have gone through different therapy experiences as a student back in Argentina I was veryn involved with a social approach to mental health. Later the French school influenced me with linguistics and existencialism. More recentlly I added to my practice some other theories such as Behavior Modification. Also with the experimentation of psychiatrically recommended substances, I became interested in medically induced medicines that contribute to the management of symptoms.
I vew an improvement on the patient's symptoms when they find a way to explain their anxiety. I believe that anxiety is the mother of behavior and the better we explain the reason for our anxiety the behavior responds to a logical outcome as in a less impulsive response.
