You are experiencing feelings or struggles that don't seem to make sense. You feel like you "should" be happy, and able to do all the things, or that you "shouldn't" be stressed or worried because your problems aren't that bad. There are changes in your life, planned or unplanned, that are difficult. Things have happened that you've never been able to talk about. Maybe you are experiencing a COVID hangover? (Difficulty re-engaging in life in a way that is fulfilling.) Hi! I’m Gina and I specialize in empowering people to recognize that there are valid reasons why they feel the way they feel and do the things they do. I love to facilitate light bulb moments where my client begins to see things differently and realizes that they are not inherently flawed. Their thoughts, feelings, and responses make sense. I work with older adolescents and adults who struggle with anxiety, past or recent trauma, coping with transitions and changes in their lives, ADHD & depression. I take a strengths-based approach and focus on the whole person. I use a straightforward, down-to-earth approach to engage with my clients using strategies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and EMDR, to work toward overall well-being.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

My clients will leave sessions feeling heard, validated, and respected. We will work together to develop therapy goals and determine a plan for meeting those goals. The approach is tailored to the individual; our work together is a collaborative process.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I utilize EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solutions-Focused strategies, and Strengths-Based Approaches. Our work may include a combination of modalities and can vary from session to session because let's face it - life rarely moves in a straight line. I also feel strongly that it is important to consider the whole person. To that end, I seek to work collaboratively with other helping professionals to connect my clients with the tools they need to live their best lives.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Therapy is hard work and I work to help my clients feel safe and comfortable so they can get the most out of our time together. I think outside the box to help my clients work on the struggles they are experiencing. My ability to understand situations from several different perspectives in a non-judgmental way helps my clients quickly feel heard and validated within the therapeutic process.
