My name is Dr. Mercy Mwangi a Licensed Professional Counselor ( LPC) in Arizona State. I have a Doctorate Degree in behavioral health from Grand Canyon University in Arizona and a Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Marshall University, WV. I have worked as a mental health provider in different capacities in government, private agencies and in private practice for the past 13years.

During our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, discuss the specific challenges and concerns about your visit. This will equip us with information to create a personalized treatment plan with your goals and objectives of treatment.

Working with patients for over a decade, creating a positive working relationship or rapport, where the patient feels safe and comfortable to open up is my utmost goal. Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a treatment model that focuses on cognitions(thoughts) patterns that may affect feelings and actions/ behaviors due to various events or situations experienced in life. It is a type of therapy that helps people identify and change thinking and behavior patterns that are harmful or ineffective. It aims at helping people develop new coping strategies. Couples Counseling

Couples counseling, also known as marriage counseling, is a type of counseling for intimate partners. Gottman method

This is an Interventions designed to help couples strengthen their relationships in three primary areas: friendship, conflict management, and creation of shared meaning. Couples learn to replace negative conflict patterns with positive interactions and to repair past hurts. Interventions designed to increase closeness and intimacy are used to improve friendship, deepen emotional connection, and create changes which enhances the couples' shared goals.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness therapy is a form of psychotherapy that helps people focus on the present moment. It uses techniques such as breathing methods, guided imagery, and other practices to relax the body and mind and help reduce stress.
