I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapy (LMFT) providing virtual sessions in the state of Tennessee. My specialties are: Helping clients overcome Depression, Relationship Issues & Parenting. In each of these areas I have personal experience with. My parents divorced when I was 10 years old and I struggled with depression from ages 15-25. I know the joy that comes from overcoming struggles and I would like to help you win battles in your life. I have now been married for 10 years and we have 3 amazing children.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session is a time for us to get acquainted with each other to see if we are a good fit to work together. It is important that you feel confident in your therapist in order for good work to be done. We will discuss the initial reasons why you are seeking out therapy and discuss your individualized treatment progression.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I walk through the fire with my clients. I do not ask my clients to do things I am not willing to do myself. Since I have started working as a therapist I have lost 60lbs, become a better husband and a more active and engaged father. I genuinely enjoy my profession because it is a daily reminder for me to keep improving my own life as my clients are working hard to do.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Thoughts and actions are a collaborative relationship. If you feel negative about starting something you are less likely to start. If you start something you may learn it was not as bad as you thought and you may continue. Learning to have control over your thoughts will lead to more positive action and growth in your life.

Couples Counseling

Relationships are foundational in life. We cannot go through life without being in relationships. Learning and practicing how to improve your relationship will permeate into other areas of your life and can lead to positive growth in multiple aspects of life.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I do not view therapy as "I am the expert so you need to just listen to me." Therapy is a collaborative effort between the therapist and the client. You know your life better than I do, and I am here to be a nonjudgmental 3rd party to help facilitate change. You have more strength and power than you currently believe and I am here to help you become as strong as possible.
