As a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, I am dedicated to helping individuals overcome life's challenges and achieve their goals. I am personable, empathetic, and genuinely care about the client's progress throughout the therapeutic process. My goal is to meet clients where they are and create a safe, comfortable and non-judgmental space where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and work towards meaningful change. I work with adults struggling with depression, anxiety, grief, substance abuse, and more. I earned an undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Illinois-Springfield and a graduate degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Southern Illinois University. In addition to counseling experience, I served as a substitute teacher and developed and ran a teen youth group. Read Less
Clients can expect to receive a warm, non-judgmental and supportive environment that promotes self-exploration and growth. I utilize a range of evidence-based therapeutic techniques and interventions tailored to each client's unique needs and goals such as cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness and solution-focused. Together, we will work to identify unhelpful thought patterns, develop coping strategies, enhance self-awareness, and self-esteem, and ultimately empower clients to navigate life's challenges with greater confidence. I use cognitive restructuring, guided imagery, journaling, role- playing, and various relaxation techniques to help clients reach their fullest potential. In every case, I work to find the best treatment method to put clients on the path to healing.
