Welcome! I'm Amy. I wonder if you ever feel like you are in a thunderstorm with no shelter in sight? Or your worries are so heavy that they spill into your dreams? To be human is to struggle. Maybe you have been struggling for a long time or maybe just a short while. No matter what storm you are weathering, I am here to walk beside you and help you find shelter. My specialties include the treatment of anxiety, grief/loss and self worth. Difficulties in life are usually more complex than just falling into one category or another; but know that you are seen. Together, we can find a healing approach that works best for you. There is no judgement here. Only unwavering support and tools to help get you feeling better.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In the first session we will get to know one another better. We will talk about what brings you to therapy and I will gather a little background information as well. You will have the opportunity to ask any questions that you have and we will plan on a time to meet again. In the last few minutes of the initial session we will also identify one skill, until we meet again, that you can practice to help find some relief. In the next session we will create a treatment plan to identify the steps to take to achieve the long and short term goals you may have for your mental health. Each time we meet for sessions we will do a check in at the beginning to see if we would like to do something together to help center yourself for the session.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I pride myself on creating a non-judgmental and healing environment which will help us become more mindful and connected with your authentic self.

My treatment methods

Eclectic

You are unique. And therapy methods do not come in a 'one size fits all' fashion. Eclectic therapy allows us to take pieces of many different approaches to find the combination of techniques that are best for you. For example, we might combine the reframing of thoughts (CBT) while noticing the emotions that arise without judgment (DBT) to allow you to heal and alleviate the painful symptoms that you are experiencing.

Experiential Therapy

This type of therapy technique allows us to explore ways for you to process your emotions and experiences through inner child work, art, soul collages, etc. These are a few examples of techniques that have benefited my clients in the past.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

It is rare that we are taught how to connect our mind, body, and spirit but it is an essential component of the healing process. I will teach you how to notice and identify how all of these parts of you are communicating with one another.

Grief Therapy

Grief, no matter the cause, is one of the most painful experiences that we as humans experience. Grief is patient. It will wait for you to notice it. Sometimes it is quiet and other times it is so loud you can barely stand it. I will teach you how to notice the pain without it completely taking over all parts of your life.
