Hi there. I’m Marlene, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Florida and licensed in Florida and New York. I work with young and older adults and specialize in anxiety, depression, loneliness, family issues, relationship issues and loss. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Strength- Based Therapy and Psychodynamic Therapy to help you make progress and start feeling better. Throughout my over 15 years of experience, I have been fortunate to work with children, and adults including home-bound adults, and seniors. Some of my areas of specialization include mood disorders, anxiety, relationship issues, family issues, working to reduce depressive symptoms and strengthening self-esteem. I am certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and a Certified Grief Informed Professional.
In our first session - we will start with brief introductions; then dive into the specific challenges you are facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow up sessions.

I use CBT in my practice to treat anxiety and depression. CBT aim is to help you deal with overwhelming problems in a more positive way by breaking them down into smaller parts. Your are shown how to change negative patterns to improve the way you feel.
CERTIFIED IN DIALECTICAL BEHAVIOR THERAPY: I utilize DBT in my practice to teach the development of mindfulness skills. Mindfulness helps you focus on the present or "live in the moment". This helps you pay attention what is happening inside you, your thoughts, feelings, sensations and impulses. Grief therapy certified.
I use eclectic approach to when treating clients to accommodate different client needs.
