Welcome! I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 8 years of experience working with adolescents, adults, couples, and families. My approach is collaborative and tailored to each individual or family’s needs, helping clients navigate life’s challenges, improve emotional well-being, and build stronger relationships. I specialize in a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Strength-Based techniques, all aimed at fostering growth, resilience, and lasting change.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will focus on getting to know each other, discussing your goals for therapy, and developing a plan for how we can work together toward your desired outcomes. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, understood, and clear about the direction of our work.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strengths as a provider are my ability to actively listen, offer practical solutions, and create a compassionate space where clients feel safe to explore their concerns. I strive to make each session a space where you can feel comfortable, empowered, and hopeful about the changes you're making in your life.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I am extensively trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a highly effective, evidence-based treatment method that focuses on identifying and challenging unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors. By helping individuals recognize how thoughts influence emotions and actions, CBT empowers clients to make positive changes in their mental health. In my practice, I use CBT to guide clients in understanding the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Together, we work to identify negative or distorted thinking patterns, and I help clients replace these with more balanced, realistic perspectives. This approach is particularly beneficial for individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, or trauma. Through a structured, goal-oriented approach, CBT provides clients with the skills they need to manage and overcome their challenges in a practical and empowering way. In my practice, I tailor CBT techniques to each client's unique needs, creating a compassionate and supportive environment to foster lasting change.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I am experienced in providing Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), a treatment method that has proven effective for individuals struggling with emotional regulation, interpersonal difficulties, and self-destructive behaviors. DBT combines cognitive-behavioral techniques with mindfulness strategies and places a strong emphasis on acceptance and change. In my practice, I integrate DBT principles to help clients develop skills in four key areas: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. These skills empower individuals to navigate difficult emotions, manage stress, and improve relationships. By integrating DBT into my practice, I aim to provide clients with the tools to create lasting positive change, enhance emotional resilience, and improve their overall well-being.

Motivational Interviewing

I am experienced in Motivational Interviewing (MI), a client-centered, collaborative counseling approach designed to help individuals explore and resolve ambivalence about change. MI is particularly effective in guiding clients through stages of change, whether they’re working to overcome addictive behaviors, manage chronic conditions, or pursue personal growth. MI fosters a non-judgmental and respectful environment, where the focus is on the client’s autonomy and ability to make informed decisions about their life. By emphasizing self-efficacy, I work with clients to increase their confidence and commitment to the changes they wish to make. Whether clients are facing challenges related to substance use, behavior patterns, or mental health, MI allows me to guide them toward greater self-awareness and empowerment. I tailor the approach to meet the unique needs of each client, using strategies that align with their readiness to change, fostering an open dialogue that encourages growth and progress.

Positive Psychology

I am trained in Positive Psychology, a strengths-based therapeutic approach that focuses on enhancing well-being, personal growth, and resilience. Unlike traditional therapy models that often emphasize treating pathology, Positive Psychology centers on building positive emotions, cultivating meaning in life, and fostering fulfilling relationships. It encourages individuals to focus on their strengths and what is going well in their lives, which leads to greater life satisfaction and emotional flourishing. Through the use of evidence-based techniques such as strengths identification, goal setting, and building resilience, I help clients discover their inner resources and develop a greater sense of purpose. This approach is particularly useful for those dealing with anxiety, depression, or stress, as it helps them reframe their experiences and find meaning in the challenges they face.

Strength-Based

In my practice, I use the Strength-Based approach to help clients recognize and tap into their personal strengths, whether they are related to skills, values, relationships, or past successes. By focusing on what’s already working well in their lives, clients can gain confidence and motivation to overcome obstacles and make meaningful changes. Whether clients are navigating mental health struggles, life transitions, or interpersonal difficulties, the Strength-Based approach enables them to harness their inner resources to build a more positive and fulfilling life. I tailor the approach to meet each individual’s needs, ensuring that therapy is both empowering and solution-focused.
