I am a licensed therapist with over 20 years of professional work experience. My past work experience has included working with clients dealing with relationship stress, anxiety, self esteem, self confidence and depression. I strive to provide an environment that is open and non judgmental as the goal is to help the client feel comfortable discussing their thoughts and feelings.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together we will start with brief introductions and I will complete an intake assessment to allow me the opportunity to understand your needs, concerns and goals. This will also provide the opportunity for the client to get a chance to learn more about how I work as a therapist.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My professional journey has led me to work in a variety of settings including inpatient hospitals, correctional healthcare, and child welfare. Navigating the complexity of all of these settings has provided me with valuable insight into the multifaceted nature of mental health and wellness providing me with the ability to provide clients with personalized support.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have been using CBT as a treatment modality for many years. I use CBT to help clients address and manage anxiety by examining and changing thought patterns. Connecting thoughts and feelings to behaviors can help clients gain a healthier perspective on life's challenges and develop effective coping skills to meet the challenges of everyday life.

Attachment-based

I use attachment-based therapy to help clients understand their own attachment style and develop understanding of how it influences their ability to relate to others. It is important to help clients identify triggers and patterns of behavior that influence thoughts and feelings as these can have a significant impact on interpersonal and intimate relationships.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

Understanding a client’s unique background and perspective can help to understand each individual client. Client perspectives influence their communication styles, behaviors and functioning and it is an important tool in the therapy process.
