Hi there! Taking the step into, or back into, therapy is an important one. My goal is to support you in the effort by being warm and compassionate as a clinician to help you feel as secure as possible in the process. If you would like a partner to help sift through experiences in your life to draw out insights that allow you to feel more empowered in your life to take control and make decisions that are more authentic to you, I am here. I believe many of us turn to therapy when we need support in managing difficult aspects and realities in our life, and finding ways to be more at peace with those aspects so that we can have more control of our individual lives is an overall aim of our work together.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

First, we get all the business things out of the way (as a mandated reporter, what I am obligated to break confidentiality for, who I am and my style) so that we can focus on you. I ask a lot of questions about what is bringing you to therapy, what things are like presently in various aspects of your life, and historical information. This session is us laying the groundwork to establish what you would like to focus on in our work together.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My job is to work myself out of a job! My goal is to help support an individual to feel more empowered to take control of their life. This involves hard work and introspection, but hopefully also some humor. I show up to every session curious and ready to help support you in the work that you want to dig into.

My treatment methods

Humanistic

Paramount to our work together will be establishing therapeutic rapport and ensure you feel supported in order to discuss and uncover insights about difficult aspects of your life. We will also focus therapy on working on the goals that you establish.

Existential

To me, an important aspect of mental health treatment is a focus on concerns that are part of the foundation of an individual's existence. Therapy should be centered on the authenticity of an individual and the freedom and responsibility we have to make the best choices for ourselves in order to best support our mental health.

EMDR

EMDR is used to process difficult memories and trauma to help more fully reconcile the memory and allows us to have the ability to have a more balanced and secure view of ourselves and the world.
