I have a total of 17 years of Master level experience in providing effective care to those seeking relief from all of these challenges. I utilize treatment modalities that have a proven track record! We all deserve to live the happiest life that we can. You can be assured that your therapy will be provided with compassion in a safe and confidential setting. Our first session will be an opportunity for both of us to gain information. Your questions are always welcome in any/all sessions, but this first session is a time to speak to any thoughts you have regarding therapy, or you may have some concerns. I would also like to use this time to ask you about how things are going currently, and therapy is more beneficial with some history of things that you have tried in the past. Please plan on 60 minutes of this first session. Follow up sessions will be approximately 45 minutes. Each of these sessions will allow you to learn new skills and practice those skills. You will gain experience working toward relief of symptoms and taking control of increasing your satisfaction with your life.
I use a variety of treatment modalities that are based on clients' current needs and preferences. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy- This approach assists people to increase their understanding that in part, psychological problems are based on unhealthy ways of thinking. People learn ways to recognize these thoughts which can cause, and at minimum contribute to anxiety and depression. New skills are applied that have been proven to elicit a reduction in symptoms. Cognitive Processing Therapy- This approach helps clients become aware of problematic thought patterns, while also providing treatment for past traumas. Mindfulness- Mindfulness techniques teach clients to be present in the moment, decompress, and relax. It can be helpful for anxiety and avoidance of panic.
I have a variety of experience in the mental health field. I am a compassionate person, and I firmly believe that each of us can build the resources that we need to live a happier life. My most recent employment has been working with Americas Veterans. I am very professional with clients, but I do have a more relaxed style. People have found it easy to connect with me and to develop a working, therapeutic relationship with me.
