About me

I’m a licensed clinical social worker with over twenty years of experience helping adults calm their minds, regulate their bodies, and rebuild a sense of control. My approach is structured but warm—focused on practical strategies that actually work in real life. I specialize in evidence-based therapies for insomnia, chronic pain, stress, and burnout. Many of my clients are high-functioning professionals or caregivers who appear steady on the outside but feel exhausted, disconnected, or “stuck in overdrive.” My work blends trauma-informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with mindfulness and mind-body approaches to restore calm, clarity, and rest. Every session is collaborative and paced to feel safe and sustainable. My goal is to help you understand what’s happening in your nervous system—and teach you the tools to change it.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first session is a chance for us to slow things down and get a clear picture of what’s been happening in your life—what’s working, what’s not, and what you’d like to change. You don’t need to have everything figured out before we meet. My job is to guide the process and help you start connecting the dots between your stress, sleep, mood, and physical tension. We’ll begin by reviewing your goals, current symptoms, and any patterns you’ve noticed. I’ll explain how I use trauma-informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and mind-body methods so you know exactly what to expect. Most clients describe the first session as calm, structured, and surprisingly relieving—it’s often the first time someone helps them make sense of what’s been happening inside both their mind and body. You’ll leave the session with an initial plan and a few simple tools to begin practicing between meetings. Each step builds on the last, helping you feel more settled, confident, and equipped to manage stress and sleep. Therapy with me is collaborative and transparent. I’ll check in regularly to make sure we’re moving at a pace that feels right for you and that every session feels useful. My goal is for you to finish our first meeting feeling understood—and already beginning to feel more in control of your system.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Clients describe my sessions as calm, focused, and practical. I bring over twenty years of experience providing trauma-informed CBT and mind-body approaches that help people feel less overwhelmed and more in control. My greatest strength is helping clients connect the dots between what’s happening in their mind, body, and daily life. You’ll always know why we’re using a particular tool or strategy—and how it applies to your specific goals. Therapy should leave you with clarity, not confusion. I combine structure and empathy, keeping sessions steady, goal-oriented, and safe. If you value clear explanations, evidence-based tools, and a therapist who stays grounded no matter how heavy things feel, you’ll likely find my style a good fit. Together, we’ll create lasting change built on calm, consistency, and trust.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My clients are thoughtful adults who’ve spent years holding it together while feeling wired, tense, or worn out inside. They’re used to being capable—but lately, sleep, focus, or motivation just aren’t cooperating. Many tell me, “I don’t know if it’s trauma, but something feels off.” They may live with chronic pain, stress, or overthinking that no amount of effort seems to fix. I specialize in helping people calm their nervous systems, improve sleep, and rebuild trust in their bodies and minds. Using trauma-informed CBT, mindfulness, and mind-body methods, we work step-by-step to make life feel manageable again. If you’re looking for a therapist who’s direct, compassionate, and focused on progress—not perfection—you’ll likely feel at home here.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT helps you identify and change patterns that keep stress, anxiety, or overthinking in place. We’ll explore how your thoughts, behaviors, and body responses interact—and use structured, evidence-based tools to create real relief. My approach is calm, practical, and trauma-informed, focusing on building skills you can use between sessions. Over time, clients learn to interrupt negative cycles, sleep better, and respond to challenges with more clarity and control.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-i)

If your mind won’t slow down at night, CBT-I helps retrain your sleep system. We’ll identify habits and thoughts that keep your body in alert mode, then use proven methods like sleep scheduling, cognitive reframing, and relaxation skills to reset your natural rhythm. Clients typically notice improvement within a few weeks—falling asleep faster, waking less often, and feeling rested again.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness-based therapy helps you step out of survival mode and back into presence. You’ll learn to notice thoughts, emotions, and sensations without judgment so they lose power over you. My version of mindfulness is practical and brief—grounding, breathing, and awareness exercises woven into daily life. The result is steadier focus, improved sleep, and less reactivity when stress hits.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

ACT helps you stop fighting uncomfortable thoughts and feelings so you can live according to what matters most. We’ll practice skills for acceptance, mindfulness, and values-based action—building flexibility instead of perfectionism. Clients often find this work freeing: anxiety loses control, and life begins to feel meaningful again, even when challenges remain.

Mind-body approach

Mind-Body Therapies: Chronic Pain & Stress Chronic pain and ongoing stress often wear the body down long after the original trigger. My approach combines evidence-based CBT with body-based regulation so you can retrain your nervous system and stop letting pain run the show. We’ll begin by learning practical tools to calm your alarm system (like paced breathing, grounding, and gentle activity pacing), then work on reframing thoughts and restoring safe movement. Over time, clients report less pain intensity, better sleep, increased stamina, and the confidence to live beyond their symptoms.
