New to Grow
I am a licensed and certified counselor dedicated to helping adults learn tools to overcome past and present barriers so they can live with greater confidence and clarity. I prioritize open and attentive communication to cultivate a nonjudgmental therapeutic space that encourages meaningful exploration and personal growth. Through a compassionate and evidence-based approach, I support clients in building resilience, gaining insight, and moving forward with purpose and intention.
During our first session, my goal is to create a comfortable and welcoming space where you can begin sharing what brings you to therapy. We’ll spend time discussing your current concerns, background, and goals for treatment so I can gain a clear understanding of your needs. I’ll also review confidentiality, and answer any questions you may have about the process. Together, we’ll begin identifying the areas you’d like to focus on and outline what our work together might look like moving forward. My hope is that you leave the session with a sense of being heard, understood, and supported in taking this step toward growth and healing.
What stands out about my therapeutic approach is the balance I maintain between evidence-based treatment and a warm, person-centered style. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based practices, trauma-informed care, and multicultural perspectives to create an approach that is both structured and deeply personalized. I place strong emphasis on building a safe, collaborative relationship where clients feel seen, heard, and empowered.
I work with adults who are navigating anxiety, trauma, low self-esteem, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or uncertain about the future, I offer a supportive and nonjudgmental space where we can explore past and present barriers that may be preventing you from reaching your full potential. Together, we’ll work to understand your experiences, build on your strengths, and develop practical strategies for healing and growth.
I use CBT to help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns, develop healthier coping strategies, and make meaningful behavioral changes. In session, I often collaborate with clients to increase awareness of the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Depending on the client’s needs, I incorporate structured interventions such as cognitive restructuring, behavioral activation, and exposure-based techniques.
My experience involves working with individuals from diverse racial, ethnic, religious, and socioeconomic backgrounds. I intentionally create space for clients to explore how cultural influences shape their worldview, coping styles, and relationships. In practice, I integrate culturally responsive interventions by maintaining cultural humility, remaining curious, reflective, and open to learning from each client’s perspective.
I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) and I recognize that trauma can manifest in various ways and impacts how individuals perceive themselves, others, and the world. In my practice, I prioritize creating a consistent and supportive environment where clients feel emotionally and physically safe to explore their experiences. I use evidence-based modalities, such as CBT and elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), through a trauma-sensitive lens to promote resilience.
I incorporate mindfulness-based approaches to help clients develop greater awareness of their thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations in the present moment without judgment. In practice, I may introduce grounding exercises or breathing techniques to help clients strengthen emotional regulation and distress tolerance. I also encourage clients to bring mindfulness into their daily routines to foster self-awareness, reduce reactivity, and promote overall well-being.
I incorporate Interpersonal Therapy techniques to help clients explore how their relationships and social interactions impact their emotional well-being. I assist clients in identifying patterns of communication and relational dynamics that contribute to symptoms such as depression, anxiety, or low self-esteem. By applying an interpersonal framework, I help clients gain insight into the connection between their relationships and emotional experiences, which ultimately fosters healthier, more supportive connections.
