Hi. My name is Sarah Moses, MA, PsyD. I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist specializing in a wide range of disorders and life stressors. I work collaboratively with my clients to meet their goals by creating a safe space so they can learn tools, gain insight, and become "unstuck" from the areas of life that are getting in their way of becoming their most authentic self. I conduct both short-term and long-term therapy depending on patient needs (some clients need a safe place to process and gain insight, others are looking for coping skills).

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first session, I will interview you about your reason for seeking therapy, the duration of any symptoms, and begin to collect information about various areas of your life both past and present. We will discuss how we will proceed with treatment (for example how often we will meet) and what your goals are for therapy. Typically I try to give the client at least one coping skill to walk away with if appropriate.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I view each client as an individual as unique as a fingerprint. You will notice I pay close attention to detail and I am a great listener. I am attuned to what is being said listening for patterns or statements so that I can provide the client with insight that will lead to change.

My treatment methods

Adlerian

I was trained at Adler University and have an Advanced Adlerian Psychotherapy Concentration attached to my doctoral degree. Using an Adlerian approach, I help clients understand their ways of moving through life, or lifestyle. Once clients understand their lifestyle, insight is created to make changes for the future. I use a positive and hopeful approach to encourage clients to overcome feelings of insecurity and develop a greater sense of connectedness.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I help clients recognize the cognitions or thoughts that are contributing to their anxiety, depression, or other behaviors. I help clients gain insight with regards to the antecedents to their behaviors and how their behaviors are being reinforced. Once clients gain this insight, we apply that insight into creating new ways of thinking and behaving.
